The Death of Human "Translation"

AI and machine translation evolve each and every day, making the integration of technology an essential aspect for our sustainable growth in global communications.
Since our founding in 2011, our company has built a comprehensive database of our translations and developed a proprietary translation platform. In 2018, we introduced AI and began enhancing this platform, which is based on more than a decade of accumulated data, by training the AI to generate clear and effective business English through specialized writing techniques. We will remain attentive to how our industry must evolve to achieve sustainable growth and act accordingly.
Looking ahead, we will shift from a service model centered on commissioned translation to a new solution-driven business that supports workflow improvement and streamlining in the daily translation tasks of our clients. Our new model will also center on supporting client operations by managing and effectively utilizing client translation data. Furthermore, we will ensure that these new solution services provide added value by delivering on our mission to offer global communication at a world-class level, and by supporting clients as they improve their own global communication skills.

However, no matter how automated translation becomes in the future, translation will always remain inseparable from the cultural background and context behind the words themselves. Over the past fifteen years, I myself have worked in roles that require global communication, and the more I pursue truly accurate translation, the more I recognize that effective communication cannot exist without understanding the culture, customs, and context that shape each language. I believe the evolution of machine translation and AI will further advance digitalization and result in more simplified forms of expression and communication. That is why I believe the need for truly effective communication will grow, and the necessity and importance of impactful global communication will actually continue to rise. In reality, language barriers often keep the storyteller and the audience from fully connecting. True communication happens only when we cross these barriers and achieve a genuine connection between people.
